after years of war, the continents of libra and historia have settle into a tense peace brokered only due to dire circumstances. economic problems and a furthering chaotic political climate forced the hand of the newly crowned king of libra to agree to a less than favorable peace agreement. having lost more than they've gained, the loss of libra's sole heir, and the slow decline of the king's mental state, many question how the scars of so much war could possibly heal when men are fickle.

mortal instants begins at the birth of a new heir and the death of a king. being an infant, and thus incapable of governing libra, two branches of power rise to claim the seat of regent. in this parts of the continent sever, territories drawn with their chosen side, creating conflict that quickly turns into war, something libra cannot handle. furthermore, something deeper and darker stirs beneath the veil of turmoil, shrouding its intentions.
